GREAT BRITISH GRAND PRIX HEROES - GRAHAM HILL

GRAHAM Hill is the only driver to win the Triple Crown of F1 World Championship, Le Mans and Indianapolis 500; little wonder his career proved such an inspiration to his son Damon.

He bought his first car, a Morris 8, as a 24th birthday present and drove it across London – the first time he had been behind the wheel. He later went to work for Lotus where owner Colin Chapman gave him the requisite parts to build himself a Lotus XI racer on condition that Chapman retained ownership and received all prize monies!
